This battle between two teams at opposite ends of the playoff picture in the NL up at Miller Park. The Padres start a three game series on the road against Milwaukee Tuesday evening. The Padres earned a split of a four game series against the Chicago Cubs on the road as they won the their last game 10-6 Sunday. Milwaukee lost the last of their three game series against Colorado Rockies as they were defeated 5-4 in 11 extra innings Sunday. The Milwaukee Brewers swept the first set between the teams, at Petco Park back in March.
- 2-8 in their last 10 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30
- 4-1 in Richard’s last 5 starts after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game
This is a steep price on the host Brewers vs. a Padres club that just split four games at Wrigley. But I’ll still lay it with Milwaukee starter Chase Anderson, who’s allowed two or fewer earned runs in eight straight starts. The Padres have lost the last five times they’ve trotted out Clayton Richard against Milwaukee.
Prediction: MILWAUKEE -190
